The national minimum wage increase in Laos

In 2022, the national minimum wage in Laos remained fixed at €94.5 per month, that is 1,134 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Kip, which is the official currency in Laos, we can see that, this year, it was 1,200,000 Kip and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 100,000 Kip per month from the previous year, 9.09%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2021 which was 5.3%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Laos is in 102 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 120 of the list.
